After a three-year search of the Napa Valley for the perfect location, Ric purchased, in 1978, the current winery\/vineyard site which is perched on a ridge at the base of Howell Mountain overlooking the town of St. Helena. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eConsisting of 11 acres, our vineyards are divided into three parcels, each one planted to the four Bordeaux varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. A three-million-year-old riverbed is host to our largest vineyard comprised of gravel\/sand deposits. The 2021 is sleek and well-balanced, but despite its bright future, is also very young and in need of time. Building with time in the glass, this is classy, deep and exceptionally well-tuned. Its semi-translucent ruby hue is followed by a beautiful perfume of sweet redcurrants and raspberries intermixed with complex sandalwood, forest floor, and floral notes. Medium-bodied, with a ripe, elegant mouthfeel, well-integrated tannins, and outstanding length, it reminds of a terrific Graves from Bordeaux.
